Flight to Tromso, Norway

March 12, 2018 Monday

The main reason why we were going to Tromso was to chase the Aurora Borealis or more popularly known in the western world as the Northern Lights. There are only a few known places on earth where the chances of catching it are higher and Tromso is one of them. Edmund said if we were able to see it on the first night, uwian na. Tapos na mission. The rest would just be a bonus.

Millions of people around the world have taken interest on seeing the Northern Lights and have included it in their bucket lists. We’ve invited a few friends who mentioned that they also wanted to see the Borealis but they didn’t respond. Things like this needed fast decisions. When I posted on OMB that we were going to the arctic, my friend Chian Callaghan messaged me right away and asked if she could join me and my family. Chian is with us now together with her cousin Sharon from Davao. Sharon flew with us on PAL from Manila. The two of them were also on the same Norwegian flight to Tromso. They were lucky they were still able to get seats on this flight. Oyen booked our tickets as early as ten months ago.

Our flight from London to Tromso, Norway took three and a half hours. It was a lot shorter compared to the 14+ hours from Manila to London but I felt inip rin.
No free food on this flight. a small bottle of water was 2 British pounds. Oyen was hungry because she didn’t a lot during breakfast. She got a cup of instant noodles for 3 BP.

The flight was smooth and the view from the window was incredible. Pang National Geographic.
