Hardworking Mexican Guy

I was in the grocery store when I noticed a Mexican guy pushing a cart full of hotdog buns and two giant bottles of catsup.

I asked him why he has so many pieces of breads.  He said he sells hotdogs on the streets of San Francisco.

He is from Los Angeles.

Hardworking Mexican Guy

The trade war between the US and China and further aggravated by the coronavirus,  badly affected the Long Beach Port, where he worked as a class B truck driver.  The port is now closed because there are no more importations coming from China.  He couldn’t find a job in Los Angeles.  He lost $150 selling hotdogs in LA so he thought of driving to San Francisco to sell hotdogs on the street.

He does that four days a week-  Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.   He sells hotdogs on Market Street, up to 2 pm on Sundays so he could drive back to LA in the afternoon.   He and his wife would come back to the Bay Area again come Thursday.

Thursdays are slow,  he usually earns $100 net,  but he says Saturdays are the best.

His small cart, grill, cooler, soda, are loaded in his van.  He and his wife found a whole house on Airbnb for $250 / 4 days.

He said $100 is low but it covers gas and expenses, rather than staying in LA where he earns zero.

I admire him a lot. I salute him.  He is hardworking and seems to be a nice person. I wish him the very best of luck.  I want this guy to succeed.
