I was really so stressed out last Wednesday afternoon. I needed some respite and deviation from too much thinking. I called Caesars Entertainment and luckily there was one seat available on that same night for the All I have concert of Jennifer Lopez in Planet Hollywood.
The ticket price in this section is normally $500+ but when I heard $276 I grabbed it. I wanted to see Jlo in person.
I had lunch at a Filipino restaurant at around 2 pm. I ate adobong pusit, paksiw na bangus and rice. The server gave me everything that was left in the food warmer kasi daw last order na yun. I wasn’t able to finish even a fourth of the pusit. An hour later, my stomach started acting up. I dismissed it as an upset stomach induced by stress. I didn’t think it would be anything more than that.
The concert would start at 9 pm according to the ticket office and they advised me to pick up my ticket at the box office no later than 8 pm because there’s usually a long line.
About ten minutes before I called an Uber, I started feeling faint. My stomach began to hurt more intensely. I thought maybe kabag lang.
Since Planet Hollywood is farther away from where I am staying at, I chose Uber share to save 30% of the fare. Instead of $26, my fare would be $17.
When the Uber came, there was already one passenger who must be in his late 20s. He asked the driver to stop at a gas station but the driver told him he is not allowed to make any stop when he’s sharing a ride.
But still, the driver agreed after the guy said he only has $35 left and he wants to buy cigarettes. He’s going to Aria and cigarettes there cost $12- $14 whereas at the gas stations they’re only $6 or $7. Naawa naman ako, mother na mother, naisip ko bigyan ko kaya sya ng $20? The first gas station had a long line of people so we moved to the next one. I was running late. It was already 8:30 and I still have to pick up my ticket. The driver agreed to drop me off first at Planet Hollywood before proceeding to Aria.
My stomach was grumbling and I was beginning to shake and sweat. Perfect timing naman, kung kailan pa ako maglilibang at saka naman ako magkakasakit pa.
I arrived in Planet Hollywood at 8:40 pm ay naku ang haba na ng pila. And that’s not my problem, ang sakit sakit ng tyan ko and nahihilo pa ako. I looked for the toilet, Wharrrrrrrk, out came the adobong pusit! Wharrrrkkkk out came the rice! Wharrrrrkkk, out came the paksiw and apple juice. Nay ko, dito pa ako sa Planet Hollywood dumayo para sumuka. Parang iiyak na ako kasi I was by myself, baka mahimatay ako.
I went back in line and it was really moving slow. I was looking at my watch, alas nuebe na! Hmmm sigurado late naman yan mag-i-start. Baka nagpapa foot massage pa si JLo.
A young lady approached and ask if I was there to pick up my ticket. I nodded and she said follow me. I followed her. Abah ang bilis, in less than one minute I had my ticket. I wanted to leave but sayang naman $276 ko.
Swerte napabilis ang pila ko. I ma not yet late. I still have time to catch my breath.
Souvenir items
There are mannequins with no faces wearing past concert costumes of Jennifer Lopez. This one is very tight and it looks like an extra small. How did she fit in that? Maybe it’s stretchable?
Short dress
All Vegas shows seem to be sold out all the time.
I looked for my seat. It’s a lot closer than my seat at the Ricky Martin concert in Monte Carlo but it’s definitely not the fifth row from the stage as claimed by the sales staff. There were two standing room only sections before my seat.
The seats are masikip and the American guy in front of me has long body, long neck and long head. I have short body, short neck and short head. He is covering half of my view!
I took a portion of Bonamine tablet and Biogesic. I rubbed peppermint on my forehead, my shoulders, my nape, my nose, my throat, my chest, my legs, my stomach. I lifted my dress and rubbed my stomach. “la kong paki if they were looking at me, basta masakit ang tyan ko ano.
Majority of the songs were hiphop na hindi ko alam. Eto lang RESPECT ang narecognize ko. Puro hiphop and twerking.
I left before the show ended. I was really exhausted and I felt feverish.
When I reached the lobby, I asked an Indian lady to take my photo for my souvenir.
I looked very dull.
I no longer changed into a more formal dress when I decided to go to this concert. I was out the whole day. Masakit pa tyan ko, 3x pa ako nasuka. Kaya eto ang hitsura, very dull and drained. The very unglamorous me standing beside a beautiful gown of JLo.
