Karioka is a Filipino dessert or snack shaped like a ball and is made of fried sticky rice or flour mixed with coconut milk and coated with brown sugar. This Pinoy favorite is very popular in Binangonan. But would you believe I have never tried it in my entire life until two weeks ago.

I was looking for something sweet but not too sweet to cap my meal when I noticed the round balls in barbeque sticks.

I bought 1 piece for $1.50 + tax and I was hooked. I kept buying ever since but had to stop after the 4th time because the karioka was fatty and sugar-laden.

It was fun to eat. The balls were soft and chewy.
