Le Jardin French Restaurant

Situated on the top floor of W building in front of Home Depot and S&R at the Fort in Taguig City, the  Le Jardin French Restaurant ticks most of the boxes.    I love the high ceiling,  ambiance,  the view, the French decor,  the private dining area,  the wine room, the bar,  and the truffles.

There’s a construction on the side of W building. That new tower could block Le Jardin’s view from the side of the bar. No big deal, that’s just going to the restroom.

I almost bought the same style bricks for my kubo’s gate.

Oyen brought me there yesterday for a quick lunch.  The place is fine dining and is not for quick lunches.  We were the only ones there and we made apura the waiters kasi my ultrasound appointment was at 2 pm.

I might be mistaken but I think I’ve seen a similar plaque of recognition displayed at Brasserie Cicou, a French restaurant located in Greenhills. Tila Best French Restaurant din. Do they give the same award to several restaurants at the same time? Baka different year.

I love dining with no other people around me.  According to the food attendant,  there are more diners at night and most especially on Fridays and Saturdays.     Nice daw sa gabi,  it’s more romantic.

They have a tiny room at the corner of the building for the wine collection.

We were served for a starter, a very small serving of delicious tuna tartar. It had small cubes of fresh yellow mango, cilantro, squeeze of lemon. I wasn’t sure if this was included in Oyen’s order or they just gave this as a complimentary.

Yen ordered for our appetizer seared scallops with mashed potato and truffle sauce.
The sauce passed my criteria. It had a strong taste of truffle oil which I love. Kaya lang bitin, we only had one piece of medium sized scallop each.

We split an order of fish soup. We were relieved when it turned out to be not too creamy.

This three tiny melba toasts with garlic saffron mayonnaise on top complimented the soup. I broke them into tiny pieces and mixed it with my soup. The saltiness gave more taste to the fish soup.

For our main dish, we split an order of tuna with foie gras, mashed potato and French string beans. The sauce looked exactly the same as the one in the scallop except this one didn’t have truffle oil.

Small world, the Chef owner, Jonas Ng, is a high school batch mate pala and friend of Oyen’s constant date. He joked Oyen kaya daw pala his friend is always smiling nowadays unlike before na lagi hindi ngumingiti.
Hmmm.

His business partner Chef Hasset Go was not around yesterday.

If you want to dine there, be sure to budget at least P3,500 per pax depending on your appetite. More if you are takaw. More so with wine pairing, dessert, etc. Kami tipid kasi we split the soup and the main course, to save on calories. I didn’t see how much Oyen paid. She charged it to her credit card.
Tiga-kain lang ako, hindi tiga-bayad.
