We spent one night at the Ridgemark Golf Club & Resort in Hollister, CA, the hotel closest to the wedding venue, Leal Vineyards.
I booked two rooms with golf course views as early as July. The whole hotel was occupied practically by the entourage and wedding guests of Patrick & Jenny.
Our rooms are large and have king size beds. The decor is very 70s.
I went back to the room ahead of Oyen after the reception. I rode with Bong and Len who also booked a room at the Ridgemark. Oyen was still hanging out with her cousins so I went ahead. I was so very tired and sleepy, having no sleep at all the night before. I was also itching to wear a more comfortable dress aka daster.
When I got to the room, I switched on the television and watched the CNN coverage of Hurricane Harvey while I sat on the bed. Since the room was large and the tv was small, I turned up the volume. I didn’t know I fell asleep. I didn’t know that Oyen had been knocking on the door, on the walls and glass sliding door and windows. I had jet lag, no sleep the night before, I took Bonamine tablet, I was dead tired. The tv was noisy, boom, I didn’t hear her knockings at all. My cellphone was also in silent mode. I changed the setting before the wedding ceremony started but I forgot to change it back. Poor daughter, she had to sleep in another room. I woke up at 2 am and wondered where she was. But I was too sleepy and just fell back to sleep. I should’ve left the room key with her.
