A few months ago, I overheard Tonyboy saying that he opened a new restaurant in Pasay Road which replaced his La Regalade.
When Oyen asked me the other day if I wanted food, I suggested that we try the new venture of Tonyboy Cojuangco with Chef Bruce Lim.

I knew where to find it because I’ve been to Regalade twice before.

The name is Rustique Kitchen.    It opened in July of this year.  The food theme is continental and Filipino.

I was expecting that their dishes would be pricey, but no, I found the prices reasonable.

My daughter and I were very pleased with the choices and the prices.

We were planning to order something else but when we saw the kare kare, we flipped.

The minute we saw this plate of bread, we knew right away that they were good. And they smelled good too.

Tuna Salad Nicoise

This tasted good but I found the tuna to be a little bit overcooked.

Mere thinking about their kare kare makes my mouth water.
The kare kare was served in a heavy cast iron skillet which kept it hot. Instead of the usual platito of alamang or bagoong, they gave us a plate of delicious beef tripe cooked in bagoong, it’s like binagoongan but dry.

Next time we come here for lunch, I would plan ahead by skipping breakfast so I could order kare kare again with rice.

Oyen ordered a side dish of French string beans with dried danggit. Naku ang sarap talaga. The tastes gelled together with the kare kare. I finished most of the danggit.

We split the cheesecake. Look at the plating.

Pretty na delicious pa, hindi pa matamis.

Yen and I couldn’t wait to go back. Oh oh,  lalo kaming tataba.

We so like the food, the ambience, the attentive waiters, and it’s quiet too. I don’t like noisy restaurants.

  1. I’ve been to Regalade once, long time ago, just curious about the fine dining french resto with a Michellin Star Chef.
So now its celebrity Chef Bruce Lim heading the kitchen. Wow , Tonyboy is God sent to him after closing 3 restaurants. He is a good chef, maybe just wrong timing and spread himself too thinly.
‘Te Annie, with your good reviews about
Rustique Kitchen, cant wait to dine there.
    Goodluck to Chef Bruce…
