December 8, 2019, Baguio City

While my husband was playing golf, I went to the SM shopping mall in Baguio City to buy marker pens and colored papers, and also looked for prospective Christmas gifts. Since it was 2:30 pm, I started feeling very thirsty and hungry. I wanted to eat but there was no quiet spot inside the mall. The whole place was swarming with thousands of shoppers and tourists. Eating for me is not just stuffing food in my big belly, but it’s also a time for reflection and relaxation. I left the mall and Wazed Hill Station restaurant. It was only around the block but the ride took a little longer because of one-way streets, blocked roads, and holiday heavy traffic.

Hill Station restaurant is inside Casa Vallejo’s historic building.

Callos is one of my favorite foods. When I see it on the menu, I will more than likely order it.
I think the best callos in town is in Hill Station.

Priced reasonably at P390, it already includes one full cup of garlic rice. The rice is locally grown.
