Top of the World in Stratosphere

January 1, 2019

What a better way to start the brand new year off but to do the thing that we love the most, eating. And the perfect place to do it? At the Top of the World. So here we are at the restaurant on the very top of the iconic Stratosphere Casino & Hotel for our New Year’s Day family lunch celebration.

Top of the World is on the 106th floor of the tallest freestanding observation tower in the US at 350 meters tall. My husband asks why we are coming here and yet we are all afraid of heights.

By the time we finish our lunch, the restaurant has made a full circle and we are back to where we started.   It revolves 360 degrees every 80 minutes.

There are thrill rides on the 109th floor for people who are bored with their lives and want to have some ecstasy. They jump off the deck.  The food server tells us that the hardest part is standing on the edge and making that first move.  Go jump.  This is the penultimate adrenaline surge.
