We Can’t Have A Stress Free Life

My husband tries to shield me from stress. He wants me to be stress free. Sometimes when we have problems he tries to hide it and not tell me. I appreciate that but I do not want him to absorb our family problems all by himself. Two nights ago he woke up at 1:30 am and couldn’t sleep anymore. When I asked why he was awake he said he heard our dogs barking.
I only found out today why he was restless during those past two days and nights.

Due to the extreme stress that hit our family beginning in 2015 and climaxed in 2016 due to my son’s gullibility, Edmund and I thought we were going to either fall dead from worry or lose our minds. After we found out my son was scammed, Edmund and I lost 10 lbs in one week without dieting. My husband’s body resistance dropped kaya mabilis syang tinamaan ng sakit. He had temporary facial nerve paralysis called bell’s palsy. Half of his face was drooping and it took several months before the facial distortions disappeared. Thanks God there was no permanent nerve damage. I do not want him to get sick again. I want him to be healthy. He can’t absorb our problems all by himself. We share in the good times, we also share in the bad times. That’s what true partnership is all about. We are family. We help each other. We pray together and for each other. We hold on to our strengths together.

I would like us to have a peaceful and stress free life but as long as we are alive, there will be stresses here and there, it can’t be helped. And many times no matter what we do to avoid it or to solve it, there are a lot of factors that are not within our control. One example is our encounter with different kinds of people. People with different characters and motivations.
There are those who put money first at the center of their lives and they do not value friendships and goodwill. For them it’s money, money, money. It’s all about how much more they can squeeze from others.

Eh kanina lang na-stress na ako sa mga maids. Antonia had a verbal tussle with one of the drivers. Apparently he wanted to buy a motorcycle and he gave our address to the credit investigator without telling us beforehand. Antonia got mad and told him he couldn’t do that without our permission.
The driver snarled back at her “Sino ka ba dito? Katulong ka lang, kaya umaalis ang mga driver kasi tsismosa ka!”
